Little Goblin Dance
Little Goblin Dance is a quick, mischievous dance in 3/4 which features a variety of orchestrational and harmonic colors. This composition was composed with the same buoyant, macabre tone of Romantic Era pieces such as Hall Of The Mountain King by Edvard Grieg or Dance Macabre by Camille Saint-Saëns Musicians will have the opportunity to experience ensemble tutti moments along with individual section highlights giving a wide variety of musical opportunities to the performers. The composition follows a rondo-like form which constantly returns to a refrain highlighting the harmonic movement of i – VI. Upon reaching the climatic finale of the piece, the composition quickly wraps up with a cheeky statement from the clarinets followed by a single note on the flute.
